My Story

Who I Am

My name is Chris Watts, I am a software engineer, writing primarily PC based software professionally since 2014, enjoying the challenge of solving problems.

Even from a young age, I enjoyed taking things apart, understanding how things worked. Sometimes I even put them back together again!

The desire to learn has led me to take up crafts like sewing, leather-work, metalwork and my favourite, woodwork!

The desire to understand how things worked led to me completing my Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at Brighton University.

It has only been recently that my enjoyment of creativity and making has taken on a more professional feel. Making planters for colleagues and making a table from pallet wood for a competition at work. From this, Wattsy Woodwork was created.

However, Wattsy Woodwork name was far too limiting given my diverse interests, so was wrapped up with Wattsy Photography under Wattsy Productions in 2024

Why Wattsy Woodwork?

The name Wattsy was used by my late Father to introduce himself onto conference calls. He would call it out and hold onto the “Y” (i.e.: Wattsyyy). He was the reason I got into engineering from such a young age and the reason I have developed my keen interests in woodwork, metalwork and really all things creative.
